ABSTRACT
The first-hand story of the author who had to deal with breast cancer. Male breast cancer is rare, about 0.5-1% in Italy, with about 500 new cases per year. The rarity of his case makes him feel unique and statistically undetectable. The paper highlights the need for reliable data, targeted therapies and adequate support for men with breast cancer and is a testimony of what can be achieved with early diagnosis, appropriate treatment and psychological support.
