ABSTRACT
The sexual dimension represents a very important area in the life of every human. A satisfactory intimate life affects the quality of life of young people, but also of the older. Studies concerning sexu- al life, sexual habits, the frequency of intimate relationships of the older are still few, even cause of prejudices related to the past. The intimate area of the older has to deal with all those obstacles and changes due to aging, but also with other factors such as mental and physical status. These factors can be damaged by the onset of a cancer disease that can change daily rhythms and habits. In particular, breast cancer affects many women and most people over the age of 70. In this review, taking into account research and pub- lished articles, it was highlighted that the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer turn the life of an older woman, also affecting the intimate area. Many older patients who start the treatment of breast cancer are not suf ciently informed about the consequences and changes of breast cancer treatment. In this regard, the possibility of receiving adequate information, psychological and medical sup- port, and sexual counseling could improve the quality of life of these older women.
